Causes of O.D.D.
According to the Mayo Clinic Staff, a child's genetics and environment are contributing factors to ODD. With genetics, the child's brain may be wired to a disposition of defiance and disobedience. The child's environment may involve parenting issues, such as inconsistency with discipline, little to no supervision, and giving in to a child's demands and or defiant behavior. In other words, spoiling the child and not consistently giving clear limits, can contribute to ODD.
